Captin Corner was the mascot of Corner Comics, a comic shop that opened in 1981 in Kenmore, WA.

Originally, a store regular by the name of Steve Minard drew then-store owner Ron Church dressed up as Captain Corner for an advertisement. I took the concept and turned it into a monthly comic, misspelling “Captain” along the way. I was young.

The original series lasted for 30 some issues. They were done on folded pieces of typing paper with pretty poor quality. I decided to re-start the series with pen and ink on bristol board and a new Captin.

Unfortunately for the Captin, I was getting a little tired of superheroes. His costume disappeared quickly, then he did. I started trying to add a theme or a plot or something. The series never quite found its footing and I gave up on it pretty quick.

These 11 issues are the entire series. Future books were to include exploring the Prime Universe, where Ron Church was still Captin Corner, a rescue operation to save all the characters scattered throughout time and patching up all the splintered timelines.

I have to apologize for the cliffhanger. Rest assured, everyone lived happily ever after. The End.
